About Belper District

Belper District is one of 15 Scouting Districts in Derbyshire. The district is located in the center of the County and is just north of the Derby area.

Belper District takes in the town of Belper and the surrounding villages of Duffield, Milford, Hazelwood, Kilburn, Heage, Holbrook, Horsley, and Openwoodgate.

At present Scouting in Belper District consists of:

  • 8 Scout Groups, each comprising their own Beaver, Cub, and Scout sections
  • 5 Explorer Scout Units; based in Belper and Duffield

At present there are over 700 people directly involved in Scouting in Belper District (over 580 young members and more than 120 adults).
